My Net solution company is entering into a project with a financial company for their Intranet and they would like us to sign a NDA before we go any further with the talks and project plans.

If they want you to sign a NDA they will probably provide it to you, not the other way around.
Be careful! Some concepts are very generic but they may try to lock you in!
