Looks like they're focussing on search and advertising as the reson for the buy-out.

Well if I had my principles, and I know the potential of getting enough by not selling out then No, but if im in a dire straits, and my stocks are going down, then it might be time to get slapped anyways... Laughing out loud

No, you get with the reality program. Yahoo! has an estimated value of $50 billion, if I were CEO of Yahoo and Microsoft slapped a billion in my face I'd say: 'no, my company is worth more than that.' In fact the whole board room would probably be rolling around on the floor laughing.

You're often trolling Conrad, it doesn't do you any favours. I say that because I believe you could actually bring some useful insight to conversations instead of the constant, trolling one-liners. You can behave how you want of course. Smiling

Well, you never know. I'd quite like to see it happen, just because it'll obliterate Microsoft's cash reserves, plus they'll have the problem of moving all that Yahoo! infrastructure from Unix/Linux over to Microsoft servers.

I think Megan pointed out the other day that they might only buy the search and advertising parts of Yahoo! (not sure if that's possible). Maybe they'll buy all of it, then spin things like flickr off into seperate companies: this could get interesting. Smiling

Wait wait wait, I thought they already refused the offer? Or are they considering it again?

They did refuse, but Microsoft are trying to get them to reconsider. Seems they're getting a bit desperate following Google's purchase of DoubleClick. Smiling

It's an encryption key for something is it? I got it from: http://www.freedom-to-tinker.com/?p=1155 and I'd like to see anyone prove otherwise. Smiling

I hate to display my ignorance, but can anyone explain why the prospect of Microsoft possessing Yahoo! is that bad?
