One answer is to get visitors that are interested in buying your products. So analyse who your competitors are and try to get above them in the search engines for people searching for buying the products on your site.

There's no point in having lots of visitors if they're not going to buy anything. So the answer to higher conversions is to target the right people. First you need a good niche (i.e. a selling point, a reason that people will buy from you not the competition), then you need some content to get people to your site: on-topic content, you'll also need some incoming links from relevant sites to get the search engines to spider your site.
