I need to purchase a program to use on a golf club site with 500 members that will accomplish the following:
1. Check user against a list of members to ensure they are members. If so, provide user name and password by return e-mail. If not a member, returns e-mail which says "sorry."
2. User will then be able to access only his/her account similar to Pay Pal.
3. User will be able to pay account on-line.
4. Program needs to be able to also have ability to e-mail all members with promotional activities for the golf club.
Is there any such animal that anyone knows of?

Why just PP?
There are many pay-for-access scipts (some free) that will work with CC's as well.

I need a program that is similar to the Pay Pal program. I mentioned Pay Pay as an example of what I need. It doesn't have to be "the" Pay Pal program, but the program needs to do what I outlined above.
Can you suggest some? Free would be great. I was hoping to find a program that I could purchase rather than having to pay a use fee...maybe a program that has an interface (wizard) where I could fill-in the blanks and then upload it to the server (Earthlink). That way, I could use the program on other future sites too.

I've been thinking about this post being moved to E-Commerce section here. What I want really is not E-Commerce as the golf club isn't selling anything. They just want their members to be able to access their club accounts via the website.
Maybe I should repost this somewhere else?

Take a look at http://www.cgi-resources.com/Programs_and_Scripts/Perl/ You should be able to find some scripts which will do what your looking for.
If you can't find exactly what you want. It wouldn't be too expensive to develop a program. You can always post in the jobs and barter section if your interested in hiring a programmer.

Depending on how good your authoring skills are couldn't you just use something simple like Accounts Online from EastWright? See: http://www.eastwright.com/internet/accnts/demo.html
I mean you wouldn't need features to send payments between members would you like paypal, I would have thought you would just need a fairly basic account manager!
Maybe I'm wrong?
