Hi all, I'm trying to figure out what cart this site is using:
http://www.travelcountry.com
Using telnet I see it is hosted on an Apache server.
Might it be pdgsoft?
We are getting ready to setup a store that is similar to the one above and I really like this site.
One of the big problems I face is trying to figure out how to syn the in store POS with the cart. Seems like this site has it working great.
Thanks for any help, DC

Welll.... I'm not sure there are any real ways of finding that out, if they have removed all traces of branding and documentation.
You could always email them and ask... you'd be surprised how often a webmaster will be willing to share some trade secrets to help someone out. Like... *gasp* on here!
I'm not sure what you mean "syn[c] the in store POS with the cart"... are you talking about somehow having someone who is physically inside the physical brick-and-mortar store checkout online? If not, and even if so, I don't really understand. Maybe explain a little more...
On the other side of things, that store/cart is not all that revolutionary or even good. You might want to take a look around and see what other options there are. Looking more up-to-date would be a good start.

Hi Brady, thanks for the reply. Let me try to explain, we have a brick and mortar store that has a lot of clothing and winter sport equipment. We sell to walk in customers all day. We want to add an online shopping cart to our web site. The tricky part is how do I keep the online shopping cart from double selling an item that was already sold in the store?
In the store we use the point of sales system (POS) by ComCash. It does have a shopping cart but is looks very limited and has to run on a Windows computer. This limits my hosting options. I don't think setting up our own server in our store would work very well. We have very fast business class cable internet but it only has 384k upload speed. I just don't this this would work well for a web site shopping cart.
What I really want to be able to do is use one of many hosting services that have a fast data center.
Because ComCash does not support any other shopping cart I have ruled it out. I have done quite a lot of research and it looks like two of the better options are:
1 Quickbooks POS for the in store datebase, T-Hub to connect it to the online cart and osCommerce for the cart.
2. Stone Edge order manager with POS for the in store datebase and the connection to the online cart. Stone Edge works with a lot of cart software but I'm leaning to Miva because it give me many hosting options (I'm not stuck with a package requires hosting on their server. Miva also have lot's capacity and I don't think we would out grow it.
Anybody know of any other brick store POS -> online shopping cart systems I should look at?
Thanks, Dale
