Choosing affiliate program

Being an affiliate program, it is our prime interest to know what affiliates really want when they join one or another.

Can you name what is most important for you? What is on first place? Commission rate? Payment schedule? Credibility of the program? Conversion rate? Promoted brand?

Best regards, Seopharmacy

Affiliate programs rely on your budget ( companies like Linkshare and CJ take 10g's just for starting) They also need your patience people need to market your products. You are looking for those people and it takes time to find them. You need to devote one person FULL TIME to deal with affiliates!

All these in mind... If you have the power and the Product that can sell go for it.. Otherwise...

For what it's worth, I just went through this drill. Our company was tasked with creating an affiliate program for one of our customers (see Affiliate Marketing link in sig) and as part the project, we had to ask the same question you are now. In our case, our product is business oriented (credit card processing), and is driven by CPA or cost per action. Basically, the program pays the affiliate per lead, or per approved merchant application.

So, here's what we had on our list:

1) Realistic conversion rates & realistic incentives
2) Promotional products that drive traffic and boost conversions (free blackberry & droid credit card processing applications)
3) Affiliate Marketing Support - We create content, custom banners, images, and teaser forms to spec for each affiliate
4) Affiliate Recognition - A mechanism to also drive traffic to our affiliates
5) Flexible Cookie Methodology - Cookies can be set from with our network of 12+ network & promotion sites
6) Relevant Doorways - Straightforward way for affiliates to direct visitors to relevant content & get cookied
7) Payment Schedules - Monthly payments, with ability to change payment structure (per lead / per approved application)
Cool Robust Real-time Dashboards - Useful statistics and the ability to define campaigns. This is huge in regard to an affiliates ability to tweak their strategy on the fly.

Without knowing more about what you are doing, it's tough to provide much guidance. Our list was largely based on our own frustrations with affiliate systems and we had the luxury of being able to code it ourselves. We did, however, do exactly what you are doing now by soliciting others for their feedback which was very helpful indeed.

Good Luck!

Before enrolling in an affiliate program, get a good overview of the product or service, which will be approved. Resist the temptation to promote a product or service that you do not think most wage in.Sometimes come to identify products and services that the public purpose of your site will be covered, but there is something outside the narrow niche. Look for affiliate programs that match the audience of your target site, and to examine all aspects of affiliate program, not just the $ $ $, promises.

The most important thing is the popularity and importance of an affiliate program .If you promote a useful product then the conversion rate is high .No matter what percentage you will get if the conversion rate is high .

I have seen many web hosts offer affiliate program.
Try to check as much as possible and pick up the best one.
Besides, you should be assured that the company you are going to deal with is reliable.

Hi all,

The 5 essentials listed below are designed to streamline the search process and help you distinguish an excellent program from an average one.

1. Look for a unique product in a ripe market.
2. Seek programs that have growth potential with an expanding product offering. This will improve your revenue expansion.
3. Maximize your pay rate.
4. Only accept a clear pay structure.
5. Increase your revenue potential with two-tier programs.

Thanks.....

Affiliate programmes are generally a waste of time!

Why? Simply because, for an affiliation programme to make money they need loads of affiliates. The more affiliates you have, the more similar worded web pages or websites there are. The more similar web pages there are, the less Google promotes them (Google likes original content not loads of sites with the same content).

Stick to the old and trusted small text based Google Ads. I have 10 sites. Each site earns in region of £5 a day from Google Ads (£50 a day average). Not a get rich scheme to become a millionaire, but a steady and sustainable income from sites that contain original content.

In all the affiliation schemes I've taken part in (and over the years I've tried quite a few) but I've never been able to make the same money that I can make from simple Google Ads.

Why? Because most affiliate schemes are providing the same content to everyone.

I like natural way for the marketing because when we use paid technique the search engine don't like but when you use seo technique for the optimize of your site then you get genuine result on any one search engine.

Well; First thing it's depend your niche; for which niche you're willing to affiliate and there are different different product services available. So you have to set up your website according to your TK. Also you can try through amazon or eBay and click bank.

Best & the most convenient way is to get engaged with high commission affiliate program. Second priority is to select a good payment system. What i mean is there are few good affiliate programs where they pay at the end of the week. So that would be the best option. Brand is not a big concern.
