Yes there is alternative of Google Adsense and that is Yahoo Adsense and MSN Adsense.

I have always used Adsense and it makes me more money than most affiliate programmes I've used so far. For example in my {links removed}site, I make more money there with Adsense than I did with clickbank.

@luckygal, I like your list but I think Bidvertiser is a bit difficult to work with. For example, you need to select the theme of your blog or site; and once done, it just displays the same ads across that site.
Secondly, for all your sites, you'd need to register them before you can place Bidvertiser ads on them. Unlike adsense that runs seamlessly on all sites without registering each one.
Other than that I think Bidvertiser is ok

I would be careful with Yahoo publish, payout is not as good and YSM is horrible.
