North America size 8, European size 38. Right now I have on Naot ankle boots. Very nice, but expensive. I had to get them because they fit my orthodics. I have a lot of shoes for someone who has foot problems. Yesterday I had on this awesome pair of black pointy toed pumps with a buckle on the side. Not too painful once I put a little padding inside For workouts I have Ryka studio shoes and Saucony runners.
This is something that's going around on the fitness boards: what do you call your athletic shoes? Running shoes? Tennis shoes? Sneakers? Seems to be a regional thing or a generational thing. I say "running shoes" (even though I hardly ever run).

walking shoes or sports shoes are the norm for none event shoes (both are actual types of shoe as well)
It's Spring here in NZ so barefeet all the way after being covered in thick woolen socks over winter. Shoe sizes vary depending on type of shoe, example I have 3 sorts, sport shoe, motorbike boots, and dress shoes all of different sizes (10-12)
You know what they say about guys that wear big shoes don't ya .....
They wear big socks too

Some people are like slinkies, they dont really serve any purpose but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs ...
I too wear orthotics, and when I got them I went from a size 7 and 1/2, to an eight.
I am wearing cheap black high top sneakers from WalMart. (I need the ankle support)
My hard plastic orthotics were custom made, and the are molded from heel to mid foot, and they make shoe shopping a horror.
I cannot wear pointy toed shoes, heels, sandals, low shoes, or anything open on the back or the orthotics slip and slide and make walking impossible.
High top sneakers are that have a good arch are best for me. I have flat feet, and heel spurs so I go for comfort, not looks when it comes to my shoes.

lol, that took me by surprise.
I think I'm a size 10.5 or 11 (~11US, ~45EU, ~29JP).
I have basically one pair of shoes that I now use for pretty much everything. Fake black leather, it's some obscure brand, probably made in China.
