Hi all
Just wondering what would qualify someone to call themselves "Webaster"?
I am not really on about qualifications as such, is it experience, the ability to create web sites, the ability to set up a web server or all of these and more?

I think nowadays people just classify anyone who has a website as a webmaster. I think over the years the standards have been lowered. If I could set standards for webmaster, it would be anyone who knows a) html, b) at least one graphic program, c) at least 2 programming (asp, cgi, etc.) languages, and maybe even d) promotion stuff.

Go to http://www.dictionary.com/ and type "webmaster" and hit enter.
You might be surprised by the answers.

That's what I was thinking, but most of the time it just means having a website.

Thanks to all who replied, I would hate this to get into a heated discussion
I am not worth the effort LOL
I think I will go along with the dictionary meaning. The bit (for my curiosity) that makes all the difference is "occupation."
Thanks again.

I must be a webmaster then !!!
Well, by the dictionary description anyhow.....
If we go by Justin's criteria (which I think is a good way to measure a webmaster) I got a few things to learn yet.
Hell, I'm learning asp right now, and cgi and php are the next things on the list !!! So I'll get there !!
