Living in the UK and a big music fan I just thought I would enquire as to the next big american export.
My current US/Canadian bands are
- Barenaked ladies
- Matchbox 20
- GooGoo Dolls
Who is currently, in this style of music doing well over the pond?

Hey JP...
I can only think of one band right off the top of my head. I will be sure to let you know of more new bands. "Everlast" has a few good songs. Oh...maybe you know Offspring, SemiSonic...
Let me watch some music videos and I will let you know of some more.

Chad,
I listen to most of my music while working (I have certain mellow sounding albums for work) you should try it, speeds up the time no end!
Jes,
You should be a fan of the Cardigans?
The barenaked ladies are fairly recent in the UK, about two months ago I think.
Kyle,
I know thw offspring ('get a job' is the most recent here).
Never heard of SemiSOnic or Everlast, what style of music is that?
Cheers guys,
JP

JP,
I don't have enough time on my hands as it is if I were to listen to music to make it go by even faster, I really would be lost!
As for music, Cher (sp?) has one that is fairly popular right now called "Believe" I think. There is also a couple more but I can't remember them for the life of me. Everlast is the same type of music as Barenaked Ladies, Matchbox 20, etc. (alternative it is called over here). Anyway, I will see if I can remember the others that I was thinking of did.

Here's my list, it's fairly old -- Cd buying spree last fall and I never hear them on the radio (maybe because my son changed all of the presets
Dave Matthews Band (could be rock or alternative, not sure)
Fiona Apple (my favorite female sultry/alternativish
Elliot Smith XO (quiet but catchy)
Brian Seltzer Orchestra (swingish fun noisy/alternative)
Here's two for the office:
Jewel "spirit"
Elvis Costello with Bert Bacherach "Painted from Memory" (some combination huh?)

I don't know! I just like old threads. Always seem to be late on whatever's hot in the music scene anyway.
I'm rather fond of Dylan... and the Barenaked Ladies. Should probably Google them and see what they're up to these days, if anything.

Who made you the thread police, bja?
Seriously, there's nothing I know of in the rules against reviving old threads, so if Sam wants to, I say more power to him!
No whining just because the thread's older than you are, bja.
