Man, it is amazing what people will buy on Ebay. Here is someone doing web design. Sorry looking sites made in Frontpage. Look at the background the shadowing and the page titles.

With one exception, every site in her portfolio, her OWN site AND the Ebay page itself ALL use the same background texture!

My favorite now. One on of the pages, she has for the Alligators, she has a picture of a couple of alligators. It was saved as a gif file and is 195K. On the T-shirt site, she has one image that is 194K and another that is 151K. These are only the ones that I looked at. I guess that she never said that she would optimize the graphics.

I highly doubt they do any of their graphic design in house. Most looks like free clip art, or perhaps provided by the client.
I have no idea how the hosting is done, but for only 6 pages, they prolly through the sites on the same shared server. You can get free search engine submission from several places.
I've written scripts for less than $500. Who would pay that for 6 pages done in FrontPage?

You know what really gets to me? It isn;t that there are people out there that sell this 'service' it is that people out there buy this service. If you were renovating your house and putting in a new hitchen, would you go for the guy who says he would do it for $200 ??!!!!!
You get what you pay for.....

Oh my god! it's REALLY bad! Did you see the 'Yes we do now flash too' link? Just sad... all text transitions are Flash 5 presets or downloadable presets...
On the other hand: These sites are good for our self confidence

Those are the people who are decreasing the rates for quality web design, make the market worse and worse... Jeez, what a amateur!

Most of these so-called web designers were using my free templates from my site to sell website packages. The cheek.
I wouldnt bother with e-bay, they are all a bunch of rouges on the Internet section of e-bay. I was giving away free good quality web templates untill those (expletive here) started abusing the word "free" and started to re-sell them as "proffesional website packages". Now I have to charge a subscription fee for my templates. Thank god e-bay have woken up to these rouges and removed their auctions.
Im all for people having a try at designing websites and making money for doing so, but they are over saturating the market with crap and tarring the good webdesigner with their brush. Hopefully good webdesign will always rise to the top.
And that people will soon see through them.
Cheers, Sticky
