Opera releases new beta version.
Might have to check this one out. It has some pretty compelling features.

It's really funny that this has suddenly come up on C|Net today because the 9 beta has been out for probably months (Jeeves would know, he's using it as his primary browser). Or was that an alpha version ?? I don't remember, will have to check when I get home. The mail client wasn't stable yet so I haven't been using it.
The widgets are a lot of fun

It was a preview edition, yes it has just gone to Beta. I've been wanting to post screenshots for ages, but don't want to show it off on Windoze. The Linux version's widgets aren't complete yet unfortunately.
Have been using it as my primary browser for a few months now, the improvements are - of course - visionary and miles ahead of the competition.
I've also used the bittorrent facility to download a Linux distro, it worked perfectly!
