Okay - so I got the love bug virus last night - it came through as joke.vbs.
Not a good thing at all. It automatically emailed everyone I know (so I sent another email telling them not to open it), and it nuked all of my jpg files. (Good thing I have about 95% backed up)
So I have a question...does anyone know of any fix anywhere for this? I haven't found anything yet, but I thought someone here might have a better idea.
Thanks for your help!

Why did you open the file?
Check out download.com, maybe they have something...

All you have to do is update your virus software with the newest available DAT file. Usually you can find it on the manufacturs website...

The file came in from a friend so I wasn't on the watch. And to tell you the truth, I just kind of blanked about not opening a .vbs file.
I did download the newest DAT file - no luck.

One way is to search http://www.norton.com/avcenter/
Norton usually have some small EXE files that helps cure a particular virus. I was hit by PrettyPark once, and I found the cure there. It's free!

You guys need to be on the lookout for Pretty Park... it is going around again. Received it via a Linux discussion group (knew better than to open it). Anyway, I just received it again yesterday so I figured you all should better be warned just in case you see something suspicious.

Thank you all for your help. I knew about this virus, but just wasn't aware at the moment. I got everything cleaned out this weekend. It nuked all of my jpeg files (around 3500) and I got all but 20 back. (They were backed up from a week ago)
So, it was a real pain, but no real damage done in the long run. But the whole thing really woke me up! Please don't ever make the same mistake that I did!
Thanks again for your help!
