I'm sitting here at my computer surround by 6 empty water bottles and a nasty sweat towel. It is 9:30 pm and according to weather.com it is 91°F***ing degrees outside. WTF is that about? I live in Washington State; it should be raining, what the crap is with this heat? I have 3 fans surrounding me blowing around the hot air to make it seem a degree or two cooler. I can't stand it. I am all sticky and smelly and so is everyone else in my house. My cat is lying on the table with both his paws over the edge and one leg propped up in the air against a book. I wonder how he feels. Anyone else going through a heat wave? You know with the earth getting closer to the Sun every year, this global frying thing was bound to happen...

yup! earth is going haywire... look at the earthquakes, tsunamis and all the pandemic with the avian flu and whatnots. its reminding us how little we are compared to the world. Good thing I live near a beach, so when I have enough of the heat, I go to the seaside to take some time-out... Although I could turn up the airconditioner, it beats the natural breeze...

Confused Sticking out tongue

It's not all that bad, really. The earth is a rough place to live in, much like the rest of the known universe. At least we at this time have some measure of relief from technology (even if it only serves to distract!). Cool

@Abhi: yeah I live near a beach surrounded by other islands that covers up the island im in, which is why its quite remote for a tsunami to happen here, so its a good thing all in all... lol!

Sounds like Liam in England too! It's not supposed to be hot there either.

It's been okay here lately. Actually, it hasn't been a very hot summer so far. Only a few short heat breaks, which is sort of good because when it'shot we get smog advisories and that's yucky.

Today it's still warm, but cloudy Sad I've on the couch with a bike injury for the past few days so Im' sort of glad I'm not missing out on good weather.

We just got past our heat wave here in Indiana. It had been in the mid 90's all week and HUUUUMMMMMIIIIID! Luckily I got the grass-mowing done last week so it didn't need it through the heat. Smiling

I hope your ok meg, and you dont need prosthesis, LOL! Anyways today has been a weird day for weather here... The sun is up, and its very hot and there was a three hours rain coming with it... BTW you could try what I did last week, I put in a 6 feet tube to my garden hose, punctured the tube to allow water mist to come out, increased water pressure and placed the tube on the edge of the roof... Its cooling and doesnt get you all wet, like an outdoor airconditioner....

It's annoying when it's hot at night. Very difficult to sleep! Demonhale, are you in a similar position to those in the Carteret Atoll? Is there any substantial risk that you'll lose your home in the next few years? That would be a sad thing. Sad

These weird weather conditions are caused by us, and could be stopped by us, so I just suppose we'll have to live with them.

Don't worry, I found Jesus, he was playing with a (toy) mouse behind the sofa.

I just want to know why the neighbours cat has to come over to our place to play with toys!

I guess I get lucky. It gets REALLY hot here in NM, close to 100, but it's a dry heat. No humidity, even though we have been getting massive rain for a month now. Humidity is the killer!

Just for the record: the Netherlands are having the hottest july since the year 1706 (that's when they started logging temperatures over here).

Luckily Liam, im on a few of the islands that actually is a mountain... Think Like Cadiz Andalucia Spain, thats why if youre a nature freak here its totally ok... you can go the mountains today and be on the beach 30 minutes later....
