How can this be really effective? I've been getting alot and I mean alot of extra lbs and sucks that it's giving me a hard time choosing what and when to wear... I so loving shoping for new clothes and sandals but hates to know that a really really sexy and small sandals would just make me look big and yeah of course same with the clothes.. yeah and the fact that I suffer from pain at the back of my neck(just between the neck and cranium..)
I mean how can this thing work? or should I consider joining the muslim's ramadan..

From everything I've read, not all diets work for all people. So it may take trying plenty of different things before you find something that works well for you.
The general consensus, however, is that any diet should be combined with excercise to be healthy.

That looks like just another stupid gimmick to get people to buy another diet book. I'm a little skeptical about these things in general. I think you just need to eat a balanced diet mainly made up of whole, unaltered foods with the occasional treat. And get some exercise. I lost 30 lbs on Weight Watchers about 3 1/2 years ago but I think most programs are just a mean to the same end.
That flavour theme things looks pretty silly to me actually. Odd way to get people to eat smaller portions.

the only way I know to lose alot of weight (and I've had to do it 2 times in my life) is to take small steps until you eat less and eat better. Expect to take 6 months just getting to the stage where you start to lose weight.

I am one of the few who doesn't have to watch weight (at least for now.) I am 6' 4" (about 6' 5" with shoes) and 230 pounds, and I still look skinny. Right now I am trying to put on another 10 pounds. I finally stopped growing so it is going to be a lot easier to bulk up.
My sister, who will be playing basketball at Utah State in the Fall, is trying to lose some weight so she can be quicker. She is 6' 2" and 200 pounds. All she is doing is running and she has already dropped about 7 pounds. I keep telling her to stop because she is going to get knocked around if she is that light.

I am thinking that maybe I am doing alot of computer stuff and maybe it;s time for me to get into some action.. a badminton maybe once or twice a week.. I usually go to work at 5in the morning so there's no way I'm gonna jog around the street in the afternoon.. also the fact that a tropical country I am in, I am sure gonna get those sun burns. yep I mentioned about the pains at the back of my neck..I guess I am eating alot of calories and cholesterol. I used to weigh 91 lbs.. and pls don't ask how much I weigh now.. It just sucks to know... I am cutting off on mayo, ice cream and anything fried.
oops yeah.. how about that south beach diet?

If you're having neck problems you should definitely get some exercise, even just to avoid getting into a chronic condition. Brisk walking and some stretching would be good.
Same idea - different way to the same end. In that case they make you cut out carbs at first (which are all the high "point" foods in weight watchers that you wouldn't be eating on that program). So, wahtever you think will get you to eat more healthfully.

The body is an amazing machine.
Women seem to be the diet hunters, guys seem to watch them fail or gain back what they lost, but am not saying guys aren't without diets also. The thing that i see most is (mainly woman) go about it all wrong, they try strave themselves but that will infact gain weight until such a time the ody starts eating muscle away. The trick from what I have seen is to not eat full meals but to snack on heathly stuff 6-8 times a day then along with excerise (scrolling up and down a page 20 times is not excerise) the body gets a signal that there is oddles of food coming in so no need to store it, then once you body adapts it stores the good stuff.
Diest dont happen over night and if your obsese then it's actually an adiction and you will have to work on it for the rest of your life, same as giving up smoking and drinking. When you do find a diet/excerise combination that works also remember your body will plato (seem in a flat spot), this is just the body readjusting and hwere many often quit - keep going.
Also don't over do the excerise, low weights (if any) but high reps (to bulk up do opposite), you want to oxygenate the blood not turn fat into muscle (muscle weighs more than fat).
A postitive attitude will also help, love you for who you are and you will find it actually coming off (the weight) easier, don't go into it expecting to loose x amount of lbs, expect to get heathly and if you loose weight in process then bonus, if you don't then you can't be disappointed - disappointment is what kills the diets.
Be sensible, accept it wont happen over night and if all else fails remember a lot of men and woman like a bit of beef

I prefer a walk in the beach in the morning as a habit... yoga or tai-chi at the beach when warming up or cooling down... and eat small but frequent meals...

If you really want to lose weight, i have three words for you... don't do it!
Kidding!!
Really, three words...
coffee
cigarettes
yoga
Now i know this sounds contradictory, but you won't be doing that much better if you didn't smoke. Any time someone says "smokin l'kill'ya" i ask them if they drive a car. That usually shuts them up. And the yoga balances out your breathing. The coffee's just good!
And, the computer thing might be a solution. Sometimes i get so involved with what i'm doing on this darn machine that i forget to eat!
By no means should you buy a book to help you lose weight. If you really want to do it... you will... all on your own.

Here's a funny article about some of these extreme diets:

The bit at the end about the guy from the Apprentice starting this bagel diet is sort of a comical extreme on this topic. People making up these miracle diets with no real knowledge of nutrition.

Exercise will definitely help with the high blood pressure and some headaches as well. I had pretty high blood pressure, and feel much better when I've been excercising for a couple of weeks. Over the holidays, I broke down and bought a low-end (though not the lowest) stationary bicycle, just so I'll never have an excuse.
Except, of course, lack of time.

The only way to solve weight problems is combined diet and exercise. Those pills and books that promise a weight loss in just how many weeks is a complete laughing stock.
What you need is complete discipline and perseverance.
