I averaged 70 wpm. I don't know how that score compares to other geeks, but my sister can only type 50wpm and she is a secretary.

I kept getting somewhere in the 90's. I can type pretty fast.
I peaked at just over 107.

97, 104 and 108 on three trials and I'm on my mom's laptop. It's harder to type with the keys closer together like this and the keyboard higher. I'll try it again tomorrow when I'm at work.

40-50 wpm. 15-17 mistakes.
I'm not too concerned about the speed. I've not much had to literally transcribe text on a computer. In the writing I do, including code, I spend significantly more time thinking (or reading/listening/waiting) than typing, which slows me down to about 20-30 wpm anyway.
What is frustrating, however, is the errors which interrupt my train of thought. Having to look at the keyboard throws me off completely. Just like having to reach for the mouse, or having window focus shifted, say by a popup or dialog.

72.27 with 1 mistake, and that was becasue i misread the word. I can type much faster if i am just typing something off the top of my head, instead of typing something already written down.

For more fun, go back and try it again in the dark (where you can't see the keyboard). My socre dropped to 51.11 with 7 mistakes.
(what made me think of this? I am sitting on our side porch watching a great thunderstorm right now, where I can't see the keys.)

3 attempts averaging 85wpm with 4 mistakes (in the dark)
I hit space twice after a periods (isn't that proper?!), which it counts as mistakes! *moan*

I'm trying to break that habit too. That's a technique left over from the typewriter days.
