hello friends,
This afternoon we lost about about 100MB of data from one of the computers in our office. While speaking to a friend he mentioned about a software called "Recover 4 All". Trying this software we could recover the deleted files.
But after the files were recovered we found to our dismay they were not accessible and give errors. These files were in various formats like Word, Flash and HTML files. Some of these files which were working, worked only half-way and then hung the computer.
We are sure that if these files could be recovered then there is also some solution to recover the COMPLETE files which would WORK.
what I need to know is the software which would help us recover the lost data. I would like it if the software has been used before by one of you.
Thank you for reading my mail and for your solutions.

I don't know of any software....
But I do know that there are companies that will take your drive and recover your data. What they do is actully take the platters out of your drive and put them into one of theirs then accesst the drive. So you end up with no hard drive, but all your data back. One note to consider, if the failer was due to damage to the surface of the one of the platters, it is unlikely that this data can ever be retrieved.
But the only time (that I know) that you would want to use this service is when your hard drive fails, and you can't access it at all.
One questions...
Did you not have a copy online?

If you're lucky, you might have a program called "GoBack" which might do the trick. Do a search and see if it's installed...

Marc, thanks for your reply but where do u think would this "Go Back" program be installed. Does it come with Windows 98 and or do i have to download it from the Net.
Max, thanks a lot - but I don't think we would be doing this since the other data on the HDD is safe and sound. Only that one particular folder was deleted.

Go to Start >> Find and do a search. For me, it came pre-installed on my system.

Heh heh, if they are in the recycle bin, they can be restored...

No the files have been deleted over a Network and they have been lost. Recycle Bin is the first place a user would search for his lost files.
Sorry guys but I have been playing with computer with now more than 4 years.......and these are somethings which I have duly mastered.
I have lost the files and I wanted to know if there was anyway to get them back...
thanks FOR ALL YOUR REPLIES.
