Move in with a total stranger? I have before actually - i was in co-op in university for 5 years so I had to move to different cities for work every 4 months. I had something like 21 different roommates during that time - I usually lived in houses or parts of houses with 3-6 other people. It's pretty rare to find someone who you can get along with well enough to be roommates, and sometimes it's better if that person isn't a friend. Good luck with yours!
As for the size of my "flat" (we say apartment here in N. America) - I have 4 rooms plus a big walk-in closet. No more roommates! I live on the ground floor of a big building, so I have more space - my cat just loves to play outside!

We moved in to a 3 bedroom apartment as soon as we got married to save for a deposit on a house. The wierd thing with that is that we would actually be spending less repaying a home loan than we do on this flat! And I am not allowed a cat or a dog. grrrrrrrrrr!

In Malaysia, we have 4 types of residential dwelling:
1)Flat - No security service and recreation facilities.
2)Apartment - With security service but no receration facilities.
3)Condominium - With security service and recreation facilities.
4)House - single/double/bungalow with land and small/big garden. For security maybe you have to get a guard dog and for recreation join some club.
We have plenty of land and most people in the city lives in flats/apartments/condominiums for convenience and also land is very expensive in the city.
Hehe, I live in a double storey 4 bedroom house and is 30km from the city.

I live with my parents... cheapest housing I can find!
[4 bedrooms, and dead grass in the backyard ;)]
No pets.. my neighbor has enough for the rest of us.
I live smack dab in the middle of 2 million people (San Diego, CA). I can get to like 4 or so malls within a half an hour. Lots of very large theatres (one with 24 screens).

Medium sized garden with double garage and we are just planning a swimming pool for the garden.
A dog (west highland terrier) Charlie & a black cat Deanna. 4 pc's.
Julia - if life was meant to be easy Michael Angelo would have painted the floor....

To make the thread interesting for Marc:
My flat screen monitor: non existent unless you consider my notebook a flat screen

My dwelling: I live with my parents but have a good size bedroom/office. I'll probably continue to live with my family until I graduate and complete the police academy. That way I can focus on school rather then paying rent (I live in one of the most expensive cities in the country - $1600-3000 for a 2 bedroom condo). Besides my parents are cool and I don’t have any problem living here for the time being.

well, the .5 is there, to show that at least one of the rooms is very big, or that there is a very big kitchen. it just sounds better...
there are almost no houses/apartements without that .5 at the end, so it loses its effect...
