Does anyone know how I could make a home made autorun file?
See I have digitalized old family movies, and i would like to put them on a cd and have them automatically play when the cd is put in. Using common Windows software such as media player or something of the sorts. How would i make one? and if it has to do with anything, we'll say the movie file is called steveandjoe...
Thanks for the help

There's a program you can buy for about $25.00 that allows you to do this. Let me see if I can find it.
Cheers.

The actual autorun is fairly simple: Just make a file called autorun.ini and place it on the CD. I don’t remember all the commands/calls but there are quite a few.
The basics are:
[autorun]
open=yourfile.exe
icon=CDICON.ico
If you’re using a movie I’d suggest converting it to a standalone EXE file. That way you’re not relying on the viewer’s software.

adam,
just an add on
I remember, when playing with autorun files, that the file initiated had to be an EXE, did it not?

Here is a free program to run a document automatically. I used this to automatically run HTML pages on a CD. It checks to see if there is a program associated with HTML files (which there was) and then it opened the docuement with that program. I am sure you could do the same thing with movie files.

It’s been awhile but I believe so, it might work with .com as well.
