Here is a fun little thing I thought I would post from "page 2" on Goofy Auctions.

If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, you will only see
one color, pink.

However. if you stare at the black "+" in the center,
the moving dot turns to green.

Now, concentrate on the black "+" in the center of the picture.

After a short period, all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will
only see a green dot rotating.

It's amazing how our brain works. There really is no green dot, and the pink
ones really don't disappear. This should be proof enough, we don't always
see what we think we see.

Very cool! I actually received this in an email a few days ago. Laughing out loud

Also, I've found that it doesn't really matter where you concentrate. If you just focus on one spot for about a minute straight, you'll get the same effect. Wink

gee I'm picky, if you look at that image (the center) you can actually see three things wrong with it, they are

a small red line under the 10 oclock dot
the 12 oclock dot is incomplete on it's travel
and lastly there is the outside of a dot just above 3 oclock

and no I wasn't looking for the, they just showed up while looking for the green dot

Jeeves, that's just the afterimage in the eye left by looking at a pink dot, then looking at white (or any light color). Stare at the spot for a minute, then scroll down really quickly. You'll see a whole ring of green dots.

Yeah busy is right...

A simple color rule is applied here, since that shade of green and pink is complete opposite in the color wheel... You can do this same experiment, try looking at a single color for about ten seconds, and then look at a completely white wall or paper and you will see the opposing color on the blank paper with the same figure you are looking at...
