I know many of you have sites that cater to webmasters either providing scripts, domain registration, articles etc., so I thought I would post this here.I have finished my site http://www.webmasterlane.com, which is a Webmaster Directory. I am now looking for quality webmaster related content.
The directory currently has over 1,100 links that I have accumulated from sites that I have come into contact with that provide a quality resource. I have included many of your sites that I have found helpful. You may still submit your site if I have already indexed it and I will update it.
Each submission is reviewed so please do not submit if your site is not related to webmasters interests.
I am looking for specific info. If your site provides many webmaster resources you may submit each resource to its specific category, but do not submit the main site. I am not trying to be Yahoo!, but a directory of resources.
Thank You for your interest.

I have a site that is about 50% done called JamesGLewis.com. It will be sharing a forum with MarriedAdults.com. I didn't feel like shelling out $160 twice, so JamesGLewis.com just has a category with several forums on MarriedAdults.com.

Hello, I just re-read your post, and I was supposed to submit it to your site, not here. Duh.

Hi,
I've just returned from your site (and submitted). Comments:
Why are you grouping java & javascript together? They are 2 distinct languages with very little in common. Also, you have dHTML as a seperate category when it should be grouped with javascript & css (seeing as how that is what it is comprised of).

I don't run a webmaster site. While I like the whole site genre, there are too many sites doing the same thing. I don't feel there is the need for me to start a webmaster site, even if I COULD. (I can't - no time).
SitePoint.com is the king of webmaster sites, IMHO.

I grouped together for the moment as I add content. I do know they are distinct languages. I am planning to make them seperate categories and fill them with scripts once I finish the CGI section.
Again I grouped DHTML as a seperate category just because many people would not think to go into the Javascript section to find DHTML. I at least would not along with a few others.
I appreciate your comments! If you think I am out to lunch or something I am always looking for good opinions.
Thank You

Sorry I do not understand what you are saying. Where you commenting you like my site in general, but there are too many webmaster sites in general?
If so, let me respond. Yes, there are hundreds of webmaster sites and yes SitePoint is the KING. However, there are only two or three webmaster directories that are of high content with lots of easy to find information fast.
My goal of WebmasterLane.com is to provide a high quality webmaster directory to my visitors. This means no junk, fast loading, little ads and lots of content. I know I only have just over 1,000 sites listed that is why I have not advertised yet. I have only posted in a few message boards asking for submissions.
I am planning to incorporate approx. 1,000 high quality CGI scripts, along with about 300 - 500 articles of webmaster interests, plus many other helpful resources.
I feel that will attract repeat users. Plus even if there are lots of webmaster sites it all depends on how good you are at advertising. You can have the best site, but if nobody knows about you your site is worthless. I have a few advertising ideas that I feel will get my name out to all interested webmasters, but first I will ad quality content.
I would love more opinions, Please.

I didn't mean to make a derrogotive comment towards your site, which I'm sure you've put a lot of work into. It was just my overall opinion of the subject.

I was not taking it as a derrogotive comment towards my site. That is all right. I just wanted to know that is fine.
I have had lots of people tell me I am crazy building a site for webmasters since there are so many out there, but I feel I can eventually make a presence, along with a profit.
Thanks for your comments.

This thread should be either moved to the Website Critique Area, or to the Jobs and barter Forum. When I first read this thread I thought webmasterlane.com was trying to advertise his site. Ask one of the admin's to move it...
