I was just checking my links today and noticed that I had mispelt The url to TWF. I seem to have forgotten to put the S in at the end. Spooky thing is that www.webmaster-forum.com has just been registered by someone!
Just thought I would let you know

Heh. Actually, JP, I think you could slap a law suit on whoever registered it, because that is a derivitive of your already registered name.

I'm probably gonna get flamed for this but isn't it all healthy competition.
I mean at the end of the day webmaster-forums.com isn't an original idea, its a bulletin board. (one that anyone can have)
If some one regiseters webmaster-forum then what can anyone doe about it. Its a good domain and if you wanted a web related board who wouldn't register it ?
Building up the community is the hard part and that is something that can rarely be broken.... Its something that is apparent here anyhow..
Just my opinion.

HEY you two.
Look at your names. See that little thingy that says 'TWF Moderator'? That means you're on the SAME TEAM.
Keep it civil.
Also, Ravi, that's correct. Since you're not making money by selling the lyrics, you're only putting advertisements on a web site that just happens to have lyrics on it.

Hey, guys. Thanks for alerting me of this site. It's been registered since April for those interested which means it could still turn into something.
Whether it could ever become a community site as great as TWF is a different matter
I'm off to make lunch. cheers

TWF has competition, it just isn't as large. The other biggest, which is commercial, and I have seen members here post there, is:
http://sitepoint.com
But, sitepoint has half the amount of members thatn here, eventhough, they seem to have more posts per day.

I agree. I post at SitePoint, and am amazed at the amount of posts there are. I think TWFs problem is that most people who register maybe post 1-2 times then never return.
Here's a list of sites that compete with TWF:
www.thewebmasterforums.com www.sitepoint.com www.123webmaster.com www.gethighforums.com

I post at SitePoint quite often...I think I'm ranked 4th there in total number of posts...over 720 as of today...but I'm trying to get involved here, too.
I wouldn't worry about whomever registered that domain...I don't think it'll be a problem.
As for the concept of this site...doesn't really matter to me how original it is (havn't bothered to think about it much)...all I know is that it's a fine community of webmasters and I plan to make a point to start posting here daily.
On the note of registered members...I agree...it's obvious this forum has more quanity than quality when it comes to their registered members...you need to try to increase the "stickiness" of the board...I recommend a fabulous book on the subject, called "The Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell...everyone should read it...but especially people trying to make people hang around their website for extended periods of time.

Justin: Yeah, it's part of my daily routine...posting at TWF is becoming part of it as well...aside from helping others and learning new things about running a site, it's a good way to get your name out there as well, and meet new people.
