I always find it interesting to see how other people customize their browsers. Some remove almost all chrome elements, some keep the defaults, some customize just about everything.
So lets post screenshots! Go ahead an do screenshots of other stuff too if you want - work environments, desktop, whatever you think is interesting

(I'm experimenting today with windows taskbar position - usually it's on the far right)
Maybe I'll do some more from home later.

Here is from my laptop, not using the main computer today.

(full size image here)
I am running Windows XP, however I have the "classic style" look ever since i read an article that that "XP look" alone is supposed to use 16 megs of ram just to display the rounded windows and buttons. (I only had 256 ram at the time, and needed every bit of it).

no, just my default windows color scheme. On my old laptop, I had it match the color scheme that Microsoft Golf would switch your system to when the game launched ("It's our OS, we'll color it how we want") LOL
I just tried to closely match it on this computer.

)
What version of Gnome are you using Renegade? I'm feeling a little ashamed to only be using version 2.6 - am downloading 2.12 now so will wait until that's done and installed before taking any screenies

Oh nice Abhi! That window manager is clean but sexy looking, so what's the screenshot from?
Gnome 2.12 has downloaded (took ages to find a damn bittorrent client) and is waiting for me to get home from work... Can't wait to try out some themes and such.
The eye-candy is so much better thought-out than windows and even though it looks great, it doesn't seem to slow the OS down at all - well that's my experience anyway.

The desktop environment is Xfce 4.2. It's like GNOME in that it's Gtk-based, but it's much lighter and faster. The window manager it uses is Xfwm, which is far superior to GNOME's Metacity.

Ooooh, that's so nice looking! I want one!
My Linux box died last night... Have reinstalled twice now only to get boot partition corruption each time, reckon it's the hard drive (unless anyone has any better suggestions?). Will try another one in there soon, I've been bitten by the Linux bug!

Update of laptop screen, unfortuently temporary only...
I have a projector in my office now, sitting on my desk, shining on the wall 14 feet in front of my desk. Excellent for playing movies right above my laptop's LCD display
I get about a 7' wide picture.
This is best in eveings though, too bright in the day for only shining on a wallpapered wall.

the movie showing at the time was The Passion of the Christ. Several people as they were leaving work stopped in and grabbed a chair to watch.
The nice part was that on the projector I was able to switch modes and have it display in 16:9 I think it was mode, so had full widescreen, wider than it displays a computer screen.

Just came back to this thread in order to find out what the distro Abhi's using is. I just got a new laptop, it came with Windoze XP
I fired it up for fun but was bombarded - from the moment I switched it on - with license agreements and EULA's, all for a bunch of rubbish software I never asked for in the first place!
So Gentoo's downloading now, and am looking forward to excercising some freedom of use and expression, without the aid of corporate glitz and slick synthesised music.
In the defence of Dell (never thought I'd say that!): Firefox came pre-installed! No Opera though (tsk, tsk). Am now just if I'm going to be breaking the terms of the Dell EULA - that was forced upon me before I could use the laptop I paid for - if I install Linux on there.

Got rid of that nasty Dell partition they put on your HDD as well, what the heck is that there for?

lately with laptops, that extra partition has a hidden image of your C drive for recovery.
May want to hold onto that in case you ever decide to sell it and want it back to factory install for the person you sell it to.
i finally deleted all the Sony stuff on my laptop, most of them didn't work anymore becasue sony changed their URL's

HA HA, I used that Pentium 1 166mhz with a 28.8 modem i had all the way until 2004, when i got my new dell. I still have it...... somewhere........
Before that i had one of those old 80286 computers. I loved that damm thing, i wish i had kept it because it was soon to be a collectors item. It had a game called "links" that when you hit the golf ball, you got up and made a sandwhich because it took so long to get to the hole.......
It was lik this one:

Yes, I normally have wallpapers up several months ahead, but I've been busy with client work.
I started making them for myself but never use them, and since the birth of baby nephew well...now he's always on my desktop.
