What are AI Bots in Relation to web Forums? I have been taking just a quick look around and I have seen that it seems some people are installing them for their forums?
Do do what?
Would it be possible to install a IA Bot to talk to someone on a Forum?
Does anyone have any experience with AI bots?

I have only limited experience with forum bots, so don't quote me on this.
If I'm thinking what you're thinking, then I also think AI bots on forums are installed just for fun. Members post and can have the bot -- who appears as a normal member -- reply with (hopefully) a relevant and intelligent response. Obviously this can become a bot-human conversation... which is the fun part.
I don't think forum bots are utilitarian at this point -- I personally haven't seen any. Though, there are, on some sites, "helpdesk" bots. They're like intelligent and interactive FAQs that answer your questions about the site and sometimes content.
They aren't particularly powerful, so their main value for the moment is simply recreational.

Thank you. I have an AI bot, now I just have to work out the scripting for the message board to have it answer message etc...
Its alot of learning that I have to do as well, this is a very interesting thing...
