Yahoo does an excellent job of filtering too, but I've had the account for 12 years and it's my "public" email so every spammer on the globe has the address... I get perhaps 10 spams a day in my inbox, but some of them (like this) are gems.
There have been articles at PCWorld analyzing the spam and phishing "business," I'm not sure, but I think they said 1 in 1.5 million Viagra spams pays off and it is a marginally profitable "business".

gmail eats all my good spam before it hits my computer. (Not that I'm complaining.)
Something about that email just leaves me flat...
