Blind people
What do people on here think about the blind? I bet most of your opinions are wholely inaccurate on the grounds of ignorance. Most people have mispercieved notnons of what blind people can or can't do in their lives and the interactions in normal society. So, people think of us as less than adult or as super heros with super powers with the ability of hearing a neddle drop a mile away or to feel the dollar bills 100% accuracy to tell our currency or our guide dogs can automatically smell lies? All of these are 100% true of the ignorance of the sighted towards us.
My other thing is that please make your sites accessible for the blind! It doesn't take much to get validated at w3.org and put in alt="text" okay for tyour pictures where ever possible! Another thing is that we would like it if you could see us in public with our white canes with a red tip to gentle step aside if we are walking in your general direction! Thanks for listening to this rant.

Welcome here! It's nice to have different perspectives
I have tried to learn about different disabilities to help with making websites more accessible. One of the things I think is a big misconception is that blind people don't see anything at all, which isn't the case. Many people who are technically "blind" may be able to see shapes and colours to varying extents. Which is why you might see things that look odd to a sighted person, like bright lines painted in a hallway, or contrasting markings on a train door.
With web accessibility there is a reasonable amount of information available about making a site accessible to screen readers, but many designers wouldn't think about what happens with other tools like screen magnifiers or very large fonts.
Please let me know if you experience any problems with this site.

In terms of use it or lose it ' brains are not wasting energy, creation and maintenance of processes that are not used. Optical cortex will never know how to function as an optical cortex in man born blind.
