I just wanted to take this opportunity to welcome anyone who's new to the forum on behalf of the mod team and regular members. We are all glad that you've decided to join us and hope that you will make your visits here a regular event. Feel free to post anywhere in the forums, and don't be shy! We don't bite, honest
I'd espeicially like to point out the "Getting to know your fellow members.." thread in the General Discussion area (answer a question/post a question). That's a particularly good way to get to know other members of the community here.
Welcome one and all

Hi, Megan,
I think I know you from the eDevCafe site.
In any case, I'm here to introduce myself to Webmaster Forums, because this seems like another friendly site.
My name's Roy. My web site is The Web Server Times. I started the site about six months ago, and it's designed for IT professionals who have found themselves wearing several hats these days: web designer, systems administrator, network admin, guy who fixes the printers, etc.
I'm really interested in web design and web security, but the IT fallout these days has turned me into a resourceful jack-of-all-trades.
I'm still single.
What else do ya need to know?

Gosh, everyone has been so friendly, I'm starting to get suspicious.
My current interests are web design, security and Linux. I also like writing, drawing, photography, travel and the stock market.
What else to say? Well, I'm always looking for new ways to drive traffic to my web site, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'll be glad to listen.
Best to you all,
Roy

Suspicious? We only want your money roy!
As for the extra traffic...The best thing to do is get a good Google ranking, that's the problem with building a site like yours; too much competition!

Yeah...I've noticed that, too. Problem is, these IT subjects are the only business I know about!
I've been thinking about setting up a sci-fi site, focussed on space art, but there are a lot of those as well.
Maybe I could cash in on viagra or weight-loss products. Do you thibnk there's any competition there?

Working on my certification for Java. Married 3 lovely kids that drive me up the wall but that's there job and thier good at it. Last but by no means least a very understanding lovely wife.

I'm a young webmaster (14) and have recently gotten very interested in web development. I have picked up a few books and been working on some of my own websites in my spare time. When I found this board I was excited to join since everyone seems so nice, compared to many of the message boards I've seen in the past. I would just like to say hello and hope to see you all on the board as I hope to become an active member here.

Good Morning: After a pile of rambling, perhaps an introduction is in order. Said with a smile, this is like a hippie love-in from my university days! And those long ago days turned me into a Geophysicist, explicitly a seismic data processing geophysicist in Calgary. Those were wonderful days with a full wallet and a mountain climbing expedition every year. Then disaster laid me low (pardon me if I don't elaborate) and it is only in the past 3 years that I have started a new life pursuing graphic design, documentation, and hopefully software development. Ambitious, but I am not a youngster anymore and this is the last adventure of this nature.
Besides being loquacious, I am well noted for my blunt irreverence which I hope is tied to the mizzenmast as firmly as can be.
Glad to be here mingling with the filthy rich!! Cheers, Sir Coistrel.

By the way I've added my website over there, but post didn't appear.
After I added it, I saw some message, but couldn't read it all, it was forwarded too fast, and I couldn't get back to it as well (by the way, should you maybe fix that?).
So, was it written there that admin should approve my review or something?

Hi Lisa, cant you ask your developer to edit the script for you? If so get a freelancer to edit the existing one for you, and a last suggestion would be to start your own thread here, put a link to your site for others to test, and some good scripter here at the forums my have an idea how to fix your problem for you...

I have been to other forums where all the threads seem to have been posted by experts who all seem to talk a different language. Having scanned through some of the threads here it seems like their are varying levels, which is great. I know sometimes these things can be intimidating when you want to post and are afraid your question may be seen as stupid (which most of mine probably will), but it doesn't look that way here. So I am looking forward to participating!

Hey all,
I work for the popular social networking site Broadcaster.com and I'm looking to share some of our site's cool features, like our Live webcam chats, which can be embedded into any other page, like Facebook.
I'd also love to meet those with original video content to share with the Broadcaster community.
Cheers,
Terrence

Hello, all. I'm from England and new to everything to do with setting up a website. I'm struggling to master Expression Web, GIMP and some flash before I begin the struggle with coming to terms with ecommerce and publication.

Hello,
I am a new member and new to the entire eCommerce industry, trying to get out of corporate America! It has been a very interesting learning experience for me so far and I am hoping that by joining this forum I will continue to learn even more. I have read through several of the website reviews and was happy to see very insightful and well written critiques. I originally came here for a review of my site, but it looks like there is the opportunity for much more than just that. I look forward to the discussions and inspiration!
I'll jump over to the website critique area now and see if I can pitch in.
Here's to ending the 9-5!
Suzanne
