I find it amazing. When I think I've visited all the major English-speaking forums devoted to web design, search engine optimization or webmaster talk, I find another one with lots of posts and active members. So what the heck...I guess I'll hang out here for a while and see what I can learn.
It's always interesting to see how moderators moderate in different forums:
1) Some allow absolutely zero URL's to be posted
2) Some are just glad to have a new member and don't care if you post a blatant advertisement.
3) Some encourage debate to a high emotional level
4) And some delete your post and send you a private message as soon as you say anything against another member.
5) Some are happy talking about other similar competing forums.
6) Some have the names of competing forums added to their bad words list
7) Some encourage discussion that is off topic, where a thread will go from talking about Google to the latest snow storm in Boston
Some will reprimand a member who goes off topic
I wonder what this one will be like.

I hope you'll find that we're very fair here. We try to keep a balance between free flowing conversation and preventing things from getting out of control.

I usually to blame for topic drift... But hey, we're all human, not machines, things ebb and flow and each situation is taken into consideration as a unique situation.
Welcome, and I hope to see you participating all over the forums, even if it's in some topic drift...

David, here we follow the rules. I think I'm the only one who is known to bend (not break) the rules every now and then
Anyways, welcome to TWF.

I think http://www.webmasterworld.com/ is pretty tight.
If that is what you want.

Wow! Looks you guys are pretty laid back over here when it comes to posting URLs. I've got about 250 posts at Webmasterworld and 350 posts at ihelpyouservices.com. I also frequent sitepoint a bit, but haven't posted that much there.
This post, since it mentions other webmaster forums, would be zapped at Webmasterworld, but allowed at the other two.
Thanks for the greeting everyone!
My main areas of interest are SEO, Photoshop and Layout.

Cool. Always good to have more SEO and Layout folks around -- both are fairly complex areas and more opinions and insight is always valuable.
