Hi and welcome to the forums Hasu!

I was just listening to a program on the World Service about Russia, a very interesting place by the sounds of things! It seems, on some levels, to be returning to it's former glory. Smiling

What part of Russia are you from?

Pleasant to hear. I'm from St Petersburg.
Do you know this city? It's very famous, it was a capital before (and now Moscow is..)

I have indeed heard of St Petersburg. Formally Leningrad right? Is it a nice place to live? Think I'd like to visit there.

The program's on again now: http://www.bbcworldservice.com there's a listen live button. That's if you haven't got anything better to do of course. It's a debate being held in Moscow about Russia's future, opportunities, and threats.

They've got an ex KGB guy on there (who used to work in my country no less), they just asked him about spying and he said: "The cold war is over, but the spying is still on." *chortle* Got any national secrets? Wink

Hmmm, yes. When I said "formally," I actually meant "formerly." That's the influence of Busy and his awful grammar Smiling

It was Leningrad though wasn't it? Am reading War & Peace at the moment, Moscow is in there, but the important, rich people in the book mostly live in Saint Petersburg.
