Hi everyone,
I'm a Webmaster for a law firm in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. My formal education is actually in Library & Information Technology, but I was promoted to full-time Webmaster when the position opened up this past summer.
I also manage a website on a volunteer basis for my local library technicians association.
My web skills are pretty much self-taught at the moment, but I will be taking some courses and getting formal certification this Spring.
Rob

Both named after George Vancouver, who was British ... suckers!
My formal education is a degree in Village Idiotry, but soon realised that one can make a career of being an idiot on the Internet too. The competition is a lot stronger though, of course.
Errr, anyway, I'm not always that embarrassingly stupid, honestly. Glad to hear about your promotion Rob, good luck in the new role and we're glad to have you with us!
Mine are almost entirely self-taught, have a good look at those courses and make sure they're going to teach you something useful. The Web moves fast, usually a lot faster than educational institutions can keep up with.
Not that tech education in general is a bad thing to do, but those Web courses are worrying. It's probably better to get a good Computer Science or Maths course under your belt, since those will teach you the principals of computing, then learning about the Web will simply be a case of building on that knowledge.
