Here in Jersey City there is a very lively Indian community, centered around Newark Avenue and JFK Boulevard - it's a well known "Little India"
I often visit there to get a dosa, or some imported food items in the cash&carry, or to purchase a murti in the shops.
The Diwali festival of lights is also lovely there.
(I am not Indian but trained as an anthropologist and interested in universalist religion)
