I know it's wrong to use tables for layout, but I've also seen people (and even caught myself) trying to use CSS to recreate tables without using table which leads me to ask, is there any reason to not use the table tag when you're actually creating a table of data?

Ah... I've had people criticize me before for using tables to include a data chart in my site, but am glad to hear that it is okay.

Tell those people to go study the HTML specs at w3.org because tables were designed and have always been for this exclusive purpose.
