Strictly you're supposed to be an active member before advertising your services, you're not spamming links or anything so it's fine in this instance.

Am not sure how much luck you'll get asking on here, we're already Web professionals, you see. Are you just starting out, or have you got a portfolio (post a link if you like)?

Hi sorry about posting before I was an active member. I know XHTML, CSS, PHP and MYSQL. I'm offering to update someones site who's busy even if they know how to update there site, if they just don't have time to.

More people would--probably--show an interest if you had a portfolio, or some references. Even if you haven't worked on others sites, a link to your own would be good.
