PLEASE remember to post a working link!

If you're asking for help with a specific problem in this forum it is very, very helpful to post a working link. This way we can use firebug or other quick tools to diagnose the problem, rather than trying to piece together bits of code or work through it in our head.

Many members will avoid answering questions that are too difficult or time consuming to solve for reasons like this.

Thanks!

Woocommerce Storefront Theme CSS White Text Issue

I’m using the Woocommerce Storefront Theme. I’ve changed the background to black and text to white. Now inside the shopping cart during Checkout, when filling out one’s address, the user needs to pull down to the U. S. they are in. The text is white and the background is white. I would like the text to be black in this area only. I’m assuming this is a CSS issue. How do I change this?

How to display SVG Images in HTML website..? source is not local?

1 region where automotive electronic equipment will be changing rapidly is your automotive sound system. Along with the apparently observable tendencies, like the progress to radio/cassette/CD methods, you will find inner technical alterations. One of these is that the transition from analog into digital signal processor-based sound signal processing. DSPs have already started to appear at the in-dash radio/cassette/CD methods, managing signal processing tasks like consumer equalization, sound-field impacts processing and noise reduction such as your tape player. A less noticeable emerging program for DSP-based audio-signal processing is at the front end of this automotive sound power amplifier.

See also: best 6.5 speakers Carspeakerland.com

The sound system in an ordinary mid- to luxury car is made up of an integrated radio, or "head unit," along with a separate sound power amplifier. The headset unit typically includes an AM/FM mic and a cassette tape player or CD player. Therefore, you will find just four analog outputs, although the sound sources are just stereophonic (two stations). The front and back stations generally carry exactly the same stereo program, however in different signal levels as ordered by the front/rear fader controller. The pan and volume controls also impact the signal levels in both analog outputs.

The four analog outputs in the head unit have been sent to the sound amplifier, which compels the loudspeakers found in the front and back of the motor vehicle. Inclusion of any vehicle-specific signal processing at the amplifier is valuable because it frees the head unit in the model-specific sound delivery program.

But, there's a significant drawback. The amplifier has to be formatted, or tuned, to every automobile model where the layout is still utilized. Tuning can be achieved by iteratively running spectral measurements and listening tests while altering the resistors and capacitors from the filter circuits onto the amplifier circuit board. This procedure is time consuming. As well as the producer needs to inventory a separate amplifier for each car model. Amplifiers are usually built using exactly the same circuit board having different invoices of materials.
Read more: What are The Speaker Sizes

The four-channel amplifier may be employed to push four full-range speakers. Alternatively, passive crossover filters might be utilized to separate both the low and low frequencies to induce a two-way speaker settings. The following approach is to employ an energetic crossover from the amplifier, and also push the low- and - high-frequency transducers-the woofer along with tweeter-with separate power amplifiers. This approach may immediately provide all of the amplifier power to your transducers, in which the passive-crossover approach will exude a few of this amplifier output power in the passive-crossover parts.

Digital signal processing may be utilized rather than analog circuitry for these purposes including equalization and active-crossover filtering. In addition, DSP allows for its technical implementation of quite a few features that could be impractical using analog circuitry - for instance, elastic signal-level-limiting works or multichannel time delay for speaker recovery.

The attractiveness of DSP implementation could result from the simplicity of reconfiguring the amplifier without even altering components.

For your amplifier manufacturer, this may dramatically speed the pruning procedure, saving the time and enabling the provider to become more responsive to this customer: the auto maker. Reconfigurability of this DSP-based amplifier also allows exactly the same amplifier to be utilized in different automobile models, simplifying the auto manufacturer's inventory administration. The amplifier can then be programmed to your specific vehicle model at setup, or configuration may even be achieved mechanically if the amplifier comes with a port to one of those in-vehicle controller buses-commonly, the J1850 bus to get U.S. makers or even the CAN bus for European cars.

This program also includes a port to a serial control bus. After the design was tuned, the settings for numerous different automobile models could be kept from the amplifier's internal memory, allowing the same amplifier to be readily reconfigured for any of their target vehicles. The setup might be carried out manually before installation in the car or, even if the amplifier is linked to an in-vehicle command bus, then done automatically inside the motor vehicle.

The practice of restarting the CRD4912 board DSP algorithms employing the PC-based GUI is comparable to this amplifier pruning procedure clarified.

The software gives a graphical depiction of this signal flow throughout the signal-processing works. Clicking on the mouse over some of those signal-processing cubes will bring up a more-detailed display, which can be utilized to configure the characteristics of the processing purpose. This lessens the tuning procedure from weeks to days.

Among these difficulties in DSP-based methods is keeping great dynamic selection. This usually means that the signal level entering the amplifier could be tens of thousands of thousands of decibels below best for ordinary listening conditions. Operating within this situation requires quite good dynamic range from the amplifier's A/Ds and D/As.
See Also: best car speakers Carspeakerland.com

A solution is to communicate the present user settings such as volume, pan and fader in the head unit into the amplifier above a control-bus link between both units. The head unit may then be designed to activate a full size signal level, whatever the consumer settings. When the fader is employed from the amplifier, the sound signal path between the head unit and the amplifier has been reduced in four stations into stereo.

Drupal 8 Tip: Add unique class to the body tag from page path (or route)

To add a custom, unique class to the body tag based on the page's path alias (route name), first add the following to your .theme file:

function yourtheme_preprocess_html(&$variables) {
  $variables['route'] = str_replace('.','-',\Drupal::routeMatch()->getRouteName());
}

If you don't already have a theme override for the html.html.twig file, create one by copying the html.html.twig file from your base theme (e.g. classy). Then, add the route variable to the body_classes variable:

{%
  set body_classes = [
    logged_in ? 'user-logged-in',
    not root_path ? 'page-frontpage' : 'page-' ~ root_path|clean_class,
    node_type ? 'node--type-' ~ node_type|clean_class,
    db_offline ? 'db-offline',
   <strong>route,</strong>
  ]
%}

Drupal 8 Tip: Adding TWIG template suggestions for user profiles

By default, there are no view mode template suggestions for user.html.twig. To add them, use hook_theme_suggestions_hook_alter:

function ts_conference_theme_suggestions_user_alter(array &$suggestions, array $variables) {
  $view_mode = $variables['elements']['#view_mode'];
  $suggestions[] = 'user__' . $view_mode;
}

There is a feature request for this, and it looks like it will be ready soon.

There is also no view_mode variable implemented by default. To do this, add it in your template_preprocess_user function:

function yourtheme_preprocess_user(&$variables) {
  $variables['view_mode'] = $variables['elements']['#view_mode'];
}

Megan
Google Analytics - Event Tracking Issue

Hi guys.
So I've been noticing something strange with Google Analytics over the past few months, specifically the Real-Time feature.
Everytime an Event is fired, the page path is reset back to whatever path they entered the site on.

For example, if a user was to land on https://www.songrepo.com/radio then GA would log /radio as the path, as it should. If that user then does a search, it correctly logs the path as /search/tracks?info=SEARCHTERMS

but then, if a user fires an event, GA logs the correct event, but for some reason it resets the Page Path back to /radio

I have done some digging and came across non-interactive event tracking, which didn't seem to work properly, as it stopped logging events completely.

Has anyone noticed this issue? Or am I missing something?

Create a Membership Form Using Javascript

Javascript is the dynamic, attractive and best option to create a table. I have recently launched a website (I am not using any CMS) and want to add a membership form in the right corner of my website. I hired a freelancer but he totally messed up my website. In this position i decided to do it myself. Can anybody suggest me some tutorial or some coding that i can create a membership form by myself.

Hello. I found, in the network, this very nice slider.

https://codepen.io/hw/pen/biEBz

Now, it works with three images. I would like to add an image for having four images. I tried and I tried, but I am not able to do it. There is always a mistake and the images overlap. Is there any of you who can help me please?
Thank you very much..

Drupal 8 Tip: Adding a unique class to menu links

To add a unique class to a menu link, using the menu item's title as the class name (converting to lower case, replacing spaces with hypens):

First, create a template suggestion for your menu. Copy the menu.html.twig file from stable or classy base theme and rename to menu--yourmenu.html.twig. For the main menu, the template should be named menu--main.html.twig.

If you're using Classy as a base theme, you can modify the code that generates the classes for the menu links to add a class pulled form the menu title. This is around line 38 in the menu.html twig. Change this part:

      {%
        set classes = [
          'menu-item',
          item.is_expanded ? 'menu-item--expanded',
          item.is_collapsed ? 'menu-item--collapsed',
          item.in_active_trail ? 'menu-item--active-trail',
        ]
      %}

To this:

      {%
        set classes = [
          'menu-item',
          item.is_expanded ? 'menu-item--expanded',
          item.is_collapsed ? 'menu-item--collapsed',
          item.in_active_trail ? 'menu-item--active-trail',
          <strong>'item--' ~ item.title|clean_class,</strong>
        ]
      %}

This line takes the item title and runs it through a twig filter to create a clean class. The clean class filter converts the title to lower case and replaces strings with hyphens.

If you don't want all those extra classes for expanded/collapsed/active trail, you can just remove them:

      {%
        set classes = [
          'item--' ~ item.title|clean_class,
        ]
      %}

How to make ads responsive

I am a publisher of ad networks, and I wanted to make the 728x90 and 468x60 banner ads responsive since they're cut off on mobile due to width. My first thought was to show a 300x250 in placement of the 728 and 468 banners on mobile devices only. So I created the following code:

window.onresize = function(){
var head = document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0];
var script = document.createElement('script');
if ( $(window).width() <= 767) {
e9 = new Object();
e9.size = "320x50";
script.src = "tags.expo9.exponential.com/tags/comMobile/320x50/tags.js";
head.appendChild(script);
}else {
e9 = new Object();
e9.size = "728x90";
script.src = "tags.expo9.exponential.com/tags/com/ROS/tags.js";
head.appendChild(script);
}
}

But that didn't display any banner ad, it left the header blank. So that code does not work, not sure what I wrote wrong as I can't detect an issue. Now I'm thinking perhaps there is a way to make the 728x90 and 468x60 responsive, as they pay out more than the 300x250, so why lose out on those sizes?

Is it possible to make it responsive? If so what do I have to do? If it's not possible, then can someone take a look at my javascript above and potentially fix it?

Here are the original ad codes:

728x90

<div class="container">

<!-- Ezoic - Under Page Title - under_page_title -->
<div id="ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-101">
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
               e9 = new Object();
    e9.size = "728x90,970x250";
//--></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="tags.expo9.exponential.com/tags/com/ROS/tags.js"></script>
</div>
<!-- End Ezoic - Under Page Title - under_page_title -->

</div>

300x250

<script type="text/javascript"><!--

               e9 = new Object();

    e9.size = "320x50";

//--></script>

<script type="text/javascript" src="tags.expo9.exponential.com/tags/comMobile/320x50/tags.js"></script>

Locally site looks great, but online some elements are askew

Working on a new html bootstrap theme: I uploaded it to a subfolder on my existing web site just to check it out (no changes made), and even though it looks fine when called locally in File Explorer, when I view it online some of the codes are missing. The menu, slider, carousel, buttons -- several are not appearing correctly. Any thoughts?

https://www.fleurdelis.com/newsite2/

Thanks in advance!

Drupal 8 Tip: Debugging JavaScript error "Uncaught ReferenceError: Drupal is not defined"

Is your jQuery not working when logged out in Drupal 8? Are you getting a console error "Uncaught ReferenceError: Drupal is not defined"? In order to use jQuery behaviours in Drupal 8 you need to include core/drupal as well as core/jquery in your libraries file. Like this:

  dependencies:
    - core/drupal
    - core/jquery

See here for a little more explanation of JavaScript behaviours in Drupal 8: http://sqndr.github.io/d8-theming-guide/javascript/behaviors.html

Drupal 8 Tip: how to embed a region in a node template

In Drupal 7, you could use get_blocks_by_region to get an array of blocks from a particular region, then pass that as a variable to your template file. In Drupal 8, blocks_get_blocks_by_region has been removed. View_get_view and hook_block_view have also been removed, so you can't use those to embed a block or view directly in a template file.

To embed a region in a node template, in Drupal 8, we can use entity_load_multiple_by_properties to get an array of the blocks assigned to that region, then use that to pass an array of blocks as a variable to the template file.

function yourtheme_preprocess_node(&$variables){
  $blocks = entity_load_multiple_by_properties('block', array('theme' => 'yourtheme', 'region' => 'yourregion'));

  uasort($blocks, 'Drupal\block\Entity\Block::sort');
  $build = array();
  foreach ($blocks as $key => $block) {
    if ($block->access('view')) {
      $build[$key] = entity_view($block, 'block');
    }
  }

  $variables['sidebar_region'] = $build;
}

Then you can render the sidebar_region variable in your twig template like this:

  {{ sidebar_region }}

Megan
How to add CSS transitions to a slideshow only after the slide transition completes

The title says it all! An example of what we're trying to do be seen here:

https://www.wowthemes.net/demo/calypso/index.html

Note how the content animations only start after the slide transition is complete. With a basic CSS transition implementation the transition would occur when the page loads, and would be hidden for the non-active slides.

In this example I used animate.css for the animations and bxslider for the slideshow (the example above uses a different slideshow library). This code could probably easily be adapted for other libraries.

When the slider loads, we turn off all the animations so we can trigger them at the right time. To do this, we add an "off" class which sets the animation-name properly to "none". Then we set an "active" class on the first slide (other slider libraries may do this by default, but bxSlider doesn't). Once that's done, we can remove the "off" class from that slide only to trigger the animations.

Just before the slide transition (onSliderBefore), turn off the animations for the current active slide, make the next slide "active", and remove the "off" class for animated elements on the new active slide.

      $('.slider').bxSlider({
       auto: true,
       onSliderLoad: function () {
          $('.slider .animated').addClass('off'); // turn off all the animations by adding an "off" class
          $('.slider > li').eq(1).addClass('active-slide'); // add an "active" class to the first slide
          $('.active-slide .animated').removeClass('off'); // turn the animations on for the active slide by removing the "off" class
        },
        onSlideBefore: function (currentSlideNumber, totalSlideQty, currentSlideHtmlObject) {
          $('.active-slide .animated').addClass('off'); // turn animations off for the active slide
          $('.active-slide').removeClass('active-slide'); // remove the active slide class
          $('.slider > li').eq(currentSlideHtmlObject + 1).addClass('active-slide'); // make the next slide the active one
          $('.active-slide .animated').removeClass('off'); // remove the off class for the active slide
        },
      });

And the code for the CSS classes:

.slider .animated.off { /* remove existing animations */
  display: none;
  -moz-animation-name: none;
  -webkit-animation-name: none;
  -ms-animation-name: none;
  animation-name: none;
}

I found that hiding the element when the animation is off helped to smooth the transitions; Otherwise there would sometimes be a flash of the element in its original position before the slide transition completed. This could be caused by some of the issue in this case, and you could try taking that out (and the on class out completely).

How to hide multiple fields from display in Drupal 8 using the Twig "without" filter.

I'm just posting this here in case anyone is searching for it.

Here is how to remove multiple fields from display in a template file using Twig in Drupal 8:

{{ content|without('field_yourfield', 'field_yourfield2') }}

In this example the without filter is taking two values to exclude them from display. They can be rendered on their own later on like this:

    {{ content.field_yourfield }}
    {{ content.field_yourfield2 }}

In Drupal 7 we would have done something like this:

<?php
      hide($content['field_yourfield']);
      hide($content['field_yourfield2']);
      print render($content);
?>

And later:

  <?php print render ($content['field_yourfield']); ?>
  <?php print render ($content['field_yourfield2']); ?>
