Disable Javascript comes to mind.

Seriously, I agree, putting this up is a waste of time, if you don't want people stealing your images or content then just quite simply, don't put it up, there are many ways of getting images if people want them bad enough. Print Screen, Drag and Drop, Disable Javascript, View Source, Hacking, Site download programs. It's just another complication you don't need to worry about

Yes,
those are just a waste of time. This is what i know. If you're using photoshop you can drag it into your photoshop image. Also it can be done via PSP (Paint Shop Pro) It has screen capture option so you can take a 100% quality screenshot of that image.

You can also just drag the image right off a web page with your left mouse button. Disabling right click is definitely a waste of time.

I'll scrap the idea

I'm going to scrap the idea. I have watermarks on the pictures I don't want reproduced, but I know that if someone wants those pictures badly enough and they can remove my marks in photoshop. I thought right click protecting might be a good idea (especially after all the trouble the "stalker" caused in the guestbook), but it doesn't sound like it's worth it. Oh well.

Thanks again for all your of help. I've got a lot to learn and you guys have been a great resource.

No. They do not work.

What they do is a) piss off vetern users using their applications as they choose (they have to disable the context menu to prevent saving the image) and b) provide a first level defence against newbies.

Anyone with more than a couple of days experience on the web knows how to view source -- where they can get the image address, load it directly and by pass all javascript.

Few right-click scripts work on Macs, as the toolbar with the View Source isn't in the window. Additionally, keystrokes are unaffected.

Anyway, I answered this in your other thread if you choose to use it. Just know that it's like putting a sticker on your door that there is a security system when you don't have one installed. It only fools the inexperienced, and not for long.
