    <description> &lt;p&gt;If you have shell access, you can remove all the files associated with frontpage by typing: &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;rm -rf _*&lt;br /&gt;
and then&lt;br /&gt;
rm .htaccess&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That should delete all the FP extensions on your account. As was mentioned, first look in your control panel/contact your host, and use those instructions as a last resort.&lt;/p&gt;

    <description> &lt;p&gt;Yes _vti_cnf does have something to do with frontpage. Some servers have frontpage extentions on by default but if you have access to a control panel, e.g CPANEL, then there is an option to turn them off. If not, consult your host about it.&lt;/p&gt;
