How in the heck do I find out what it is? A friend gave me his old G3 laptop, but I can't figure out how fast the processor is in the dang case. Hopefully someone here can tell me how to view the speed of the processor, short of opening it and using the serial#.

I hope this is the correct forum for it. If not please move thread.
Thanks for you help.

ya know what? I am beginning to think that most of TWF's members don't like to use macintosh. How could that be =) . anywho, I figured out how to do it by calling a macintosh support number. Of course it was something simple,...

there is a program called apple system profiler that displays all the info about the system, who would have ever thunk that they'd do something smart like that?

Hello,

I am new, and I use a Mac Smiling

If you click on the Apple menu (the apple in the upper left hand corner) and go to Apple System Profiler it should tell you the processor speed on the summery page that it gives you.

Thanks,

Eric
