I don't need help with this, but did spend a couple of hours bashing my head against a brick wall trying to sign an NDA on EchoSign, so hopefully this will help anyone else trying to sign a contract using EchoSign using Ubuntu.

  1. Follow these instructions to enable the Medibuntu software repository.
  2. Then copy and paste the following to the command line:
    sudo apt-get install mozilla-acroread acroread-plugins
  3. Then fill-in the EchoSign form from inside Firefox (I couldn't get the standalone version of Acrobat to submit the form) and press the submit button.
  4. Note: the Acrobat form didn't seem to submit at first, try waiting for a bit after pressing the submit button. Or pressing Enter after filling-in the form.

Hope this helps someone! Smiling

"Jeeves" - last week EchoSign launched a big upgrade and one big improvement was removing the need to use Acrobat any more. We rebuilt a custom HTML-based PDF form engine (the first one I am aware of) to avoid just these issues going forward. Whoever send this to you is probably "grandfathered" and using the older enginer, but it shouldn't be a problem going forward. If you let us the sender know, they can switch over to the new, Adobe Reader-free PDF form signing engine ...
