I have a funky problem that I hope someone can help me with.
I just had a second hard drive put on my computer. HD#1 has Nortons Antivirus and I am wanting to use the same subscription to put in on HD#2 as well. I was unable to find any information on how to go about doing this on the Symnatec site.
I don't think it will work if I just do the upgrade. Any suggestions?

Surely you just get the one program to check both drives, just like you do with removable zip drives, etc???

You don't need to reinstall it unless you have 2 OSs installed.
Otherwise, just pick the other drive on what to scan

I have Windows 98 on one and 2000 on the other. ???
Let me go see if I can get it to check both drives. I didn't think about that.

ACK!!! I can't set Nortons which is on HD#1 to scan HD#2 because I can't there from #1.
I can only see both drives from #2.

Why are you running two OSs?

Oh, you had to ask.
It is only temporary and would be a pain in the butt to explain. Trust me.

Well if it is 2 OSs... I dont think it'll work... I reinstalled Norton 2000 and I didn't even have to get a new subscription... I even installed it on another computer with no difficulty...
Back to your situation:
If it is only temporary, why not wait
Did you email Symantec? If you explain the situation well ,they should be able to tell you how to do it

Because it might be like a couple of weeks temporary and I didn't think it would be safe to go that long without.
If I had the disk it would work I am sure but I downloaded NAV from the synmatec site.
Oh well, thanks anyway.

Windows 98 can't see NTFS partitions but NT, 2000 or XP can see Fat(32) partitions.

Bingo. You shouldn't have let 2000 change file systems if you wanted to do something like this.
