Still pretty new to Linux but since I went cold turkey from Windows, I have not looked back. Sure there is an adjustment period where you'd want to go back to Windows but once I got over that, it was all good.

A few things I really liked about Linux over Windows is the customisation and control I have over what happens. Oh and of course, the reduced number of crashes but most people know that anyway Sticking out tongue

Why not download a few live CD such as Slax (http://www.slax.org/) and give it a try? If you like what you see or want to give it try, there is always Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/).

Oh and don't expect it to run like Windows because if you do, you're in for a huge disappointment. Refer to the following article to find out why:

As an OS, Linux does not have the same purpose as Windows. There's a good article here:

well yes, linux dont have the same purpose as windows, and if you want to play games in pc, if you have linux you will have to get super tux bros XD, but, it is more stable, it is good looking (mandriva most of all or ubuntu), and you dont get any spyware or virus Cool

A GNU/Linux system is the nearest you can get to a completely free and productively usable operating system. Smiling
